Third times the charm!
2022 was a year for the books! With travel restrictions easing and two east coast seasons under her belt, it feels like Cadence hit her stride in 2022. After making the upcoming seasons’ preparations and with a fresh coat of paint on her bottom, Cadence slipped back into the warm blue waters of the Bahamas for another bout of fun in the sun!

New England Beckons!
Springtime came and it was time to trade the umbrellas in our drinks for something a little more classic. In May, we made our way north toward the quaint towns around New England. First stop on the list was Newport, Rhode Island. After a quick shore excursion and guest pickup, we were off to explore Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard!

Shiver me pinchers!
July and August we zig-zagged along the seemingly endless islands of Maine dodging the infinite lobster buoys, our track looking like that of a drunken sailor. Some of our stops included Portland, Boothbay Harbor, Camden, and Bar Harbor. In summer it’s tough to beat the cool ocean breeze, the dramatic coastline, and incredibly friendly Maine-ahs! Combine all that with all-you-can-eat lobster and it’s easy to see why Maine is a cruisers paradise.

Storms-a-brewin’
September into October brought shorter days and cooler temps- it was time to start the trek south. Originally destined for South Carolina, the numerous hurricanes had other plans for us. We ended up making a quick detour back to the Chesapeake to dodge a storm, and meet Blake and Sarah for a gorgeous fall trip in Annapolis. Once the weather cleared we were able to continue on to Charleston to meet Lauren and Terrison for their first ever trip to Charleston. From there it was a quick stop in Beaufort to meet Marc and fuel up, and then it was on to Golf country a.k.a. Hilton Head, South Carolina.

Back to Florida
Cadence is back in Fort Pierce, Florida now. 2022 was full of adventure for us, and not without its challenges. Marc and Branden learned -the nitty gritty way- some of the the ins and outs of the Hydraulic systems. Cadence expertly took on rougher seas than she likely has before. We even finally found out how she handles without power steering. These challenges only helped have a better understanding of how seaworthy Cadence really is. Now that we’ve had our winter work done, we’re ready for the next grand adventure coming very soon:
