Casting Off!

Cadence arrived in Florida in December of 2019.  The first port was Jupiter Florida where preparations we made for the journey North.  There were a few trips in the Palm Beach area before the Northern departure.  The first destination on the trip North was St Augustine Florida in March.  The plan was to be in Charleston the following month, April but the Covid pandemic shut down all travel.  The boat was able to continue North for delivery purposes to the Chesapeake.  In late May the first cruising opportunity presented itself just as air and boat travel was opened up just a bit.  Annapolis was the hub and Cadence visited St Michaels, Oxford and Cambridge.

Onward!

The next destination was Newport Rhode Island, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket which covered part of June and July. Beginning in August we left New Bedford, Ma traveling through the Cape Cod Canal to Gloucester, Ma. The next stop was Portland Maine to re-provision and journey north to Sebasco, Boothbay Harbor, Camden, Stonington, Southwest and Northeast harbors, and Bar Harbor. Bar Harbor was the turning point for our journey south. Several of the same destinations were visited on our trip south to Portland, Maine. In Portland we picked up our final summer guests and headed south to Kennebunkport and Kittery Maine, Portsmith NH, Gloucester Ma, Provincetown, Ma, Woods Hole, Ma, and back to Newport RI

Coming About!

The following month of October we began the first Fall leaf trip through New York.  We departed East Greenwich RI, heading to Block Island, Montauk, Sag Harbor, Port Jefferson, Port Washington, NY City, and Staten Island.  The next adventure began much further south, down in Charleston SC in November.  Most of the time was spent in Charleston and Savannah Georgia with a stop in Beaufort SC.  From Savannah we returned to Florida, leaving the boat just south of Jacksonville, departing on Thanksgiving day.  A very successful first year on the East Coast.
