Bahama Mama!

After another Holiday season, it was time to hit the high seas again. First stop was a quick shakedown cruise to Fort Lauderdale along the intercoastal waterway in January. From there it was time to plan the Bahamas trip in April. The guys did the delivery to Nassau in March and scoped out several other islands for the monthlong itinerary to follow. The key focus was the Upper Exuma Cays; Highborne, Staniel, Norman and Compass to name a few. Incredibly beautiful water, weather, and wildlife, we will definitely be back!

Up, Down, and All Around!

Sunburned and salty, it was time to get back stateside and begin the trek north. Next on the Cadence chart plotter was Rhode Island. After a quick jaunt to Newport we were on our way to Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket. The next few weeks were spent exploring the islands by bike, by boat, and on foot. We took in all the sights, sounds, and tastes the islands could throw at us. At the end of the trip we had to tuck tail and run back to Rhode Island fleeing the first hurricane of the season, Elsa, who set her sights on Nantucket.

Wicked Lobstah!

August was for Maine. Cadence arrived and was ready for another month of adventure around the islands of Maine. We started in Portland, and worked our way toward Bar Harbor. Boothbay harbor and Camden were our first stops, where we shopped our way around these quintessential New England towns. After that we moseyed on toward Northeast harbor, dropping the anchor in a beautiful spot near Stonington. The next day we found a picturesque anchorage near a cliffside up Somes Sound that had a great little hike to stretch the legs. Finally we reached Bar Harbor where the hustle and bustle of peak season was in full effect. A couple weeks around the area dodging pots and eating lobster and sadly it was time to wind our way back toward Portland.
